Thank you everyone for your comments. The first episode of very cold weather of the season, or a string of cold days after a brief thaw, will often result in interesting ice formations on the creeks and rivers. I try to get out with the camera before they melt.... occasionally successful... but always enjoyable to poke around in the woods even if I don't come home with any photos. The ice ornaments are not usually this symmetrical.
