Default Traffic Hawk

I was coming up to one of Hot Springs' busiest intersections this morning when I was greeted with an unusual sight... a hawk supervising traffic. This guy, which I've tentatively identified as a first-year juvenile red-tail (I stand correctable if I'm wrong on the ID.), was perched on on the supports for the traffic lights, carefully watching every car. I swung into a gas station parking lot and snapped off a couple of shots.

Shot with the K-7 and Bigma.

Paul

You think that's impressive... wait till he gets his badge gun!

I do believe you're right on the ID Paul... or it could be an African goose

ID looks correct to me - and a nice clear photo too! These adolescents do show up in some strange places... glad you were ready to "shoot" him!

I agree with the ID. Nice shot of a pretty young Hawk.

it is good to see a hawk in what seems to be an urban environment
and a very nice snap to boot
