Weaker AA filter also means more artifacts. Nikon probably puts even stronger AA filter in more expensive D300 (that's why D300 comparatively looks softer than D90?). On the negative site to weaker AA filter, Kx IR photos have more artifacts.

a weaker AA filter could result in more artifacts, but it is still there, and I actually don't see any artifacts in the KX images. at least not in these instances. the softness of the d300 vs d90 is more likely a result of sharpening algorithms vs any big differences in AA filters.

also, i just want to repeat, as people can get caught up in the discussions, that these difference are so insignificantly small that in the real world, it doesn't matter. so while i do hold that the kx retains slightly more detail at high-iso than others in its class. however there are so many other factors that would impact the noise or detail retention you see in a real life image, that these small differences mean nothing compared to these.

as for the SR issues. i have seen that one before. it seems to come up in very specific circumstances, i hope they find a fix for it. the SR is not the KX's strong-suit, its actually not the best SR system available, only good for a stop or two.
