believe it or not, photos dont do these birds justice
the blue is almost metallic and iridescent

I'll bet if I looked hard enough, I'd find what you used to take this fine picture.... or you could make it easy on me and tell me ?

Another superb member of the Australasian avifauna. Considering the low light level, you did well with the K10. This bird would be dazzling in the sun! Thanks for posting it.

Lovely shot of a 'splendid fairy wren' (Malurus splendens) Gumnut. We don't get them here in the New England Northern Tablelands, but they're further out in the western divisions of NSW as well as your area in Western Australia. We get the 'superb fairy wrens' (Malurus cyaneus) here. In my photos they are but little blue specs in the foliage (can't get near them!)
