Thanks for all the nice comments. These were all taken with my K20.
Photo one was with a DA* 50-135 at 135mm.
Photo two was taken with the Pentax DA 55-300 at 190mm.
Photo three was taken with the DA* 50-135 at 135mm. That was around a 50% crop.
Photo four was taken with a DA 55-300 at 190mm.
I get pretty close to these guy's. Not any one of these photos were taken more than 8'. I have a pretty good set up. I have a swivel stool and cover myself with a camo blanket. The only thing sticking out is the sunshade. I have a pine tree right behind my wood pile. I just wait till they make there way to the lower branches. One more thing about that red bird. I am a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan. I'm still not over the Card%^als beating them in last years NFC championship game. Let's not talk about this year with the Cowboy's . I have a few more photos posted on my Flickr site. You see them here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/steelmanpa/

Thanks,
Stevie

Stevie, it may have been a while, but it was worth the wait. Once again, when a photographer is willing to do a little extra work in preparation he or she can usually get higher quality shots. Good work!

#3 isn't one of your hated rivals, she's really a Philadelphia Flyer (well, the color is close...).

I never thought of it that way. I guess then the male cardinal could be a Philadelphia Phillie. Well that changes everything. I'm going out this weekend to photograph flyers and phillies.

LOL! Looking forward to some more bird pictures (or else hockey and baseball players, which would be nice, too).
