Default DAL or DA...55-300

Hey guys..I can post in here

I got a K-X with the DAL 18-55 and the DA 55-300.

The store I got it from had to match and make up the package based on an ad I saw elsewhere. Then I read the sticky http://www.steves-digicams.com/press...evel-dslr.html that is here on the KX and I note that the 'two lens package' included the DAL 55-300.

So I am wondering, should I return to the store and ask for the DAL or stick with the DA??

I've read on a few other places that the DA has metal mounting vs plastic, and the DAL is a tad lighter and doesn't have a cap or something called 'quick shift'.

So what do you folks think???

(beside telling me to get out and take some pics...)

Actually I stick with the metal mount, do not need to be as careful when handling the lens. The DA is a higher end lens the the DAL

It is like getting a canon ef 50mm 1.4 over the ef 50mm 1.8, you made out on the deal.

Shoturtle is correct-

You really made out on that deal, littlejohn. The DA is a metal lens mount, and more expensive. The DAL is a plastic lens mount, and less expensive. You got the Best, my friend. Enjoy it.

Be glad that the store pretty much gave you the DA lens for pennies. You got a really good deal.

Littlejohn - Congrats on your great deal and new purchase. Will look forward to seeing some of your great photos.

By the way, this part of the forum is designated for Pentax "point & shoot" cameras. You might want to go on down the list to the Pentax/Samsung DSLR section for even more feedback.

I just moved the thread to the dSLR section (7 months later). :-)

Just send me a PM if you see a thread posted in wrong section, and I can easily move it.
