Default BIG wasp nest...

I'm not sure but, I don't think I've posted this before, this is a wasp nest almost twice the size of a football! this was from our trip to Tenn.
I find it interesting, though you may not be able to tell in this photo, the leaves in the middle of the nest are protruding from the nest itself.

That is one BIG wasp nest. I hope you were using the Bigma, although I don't think I'd get any closer than a Bigma and a couple of TC's. Well done.

Better than that Paul, I used the K10 and 55-300 @97.5 mm and shot through the windshield from inside the car!

That's huge! It's sort-of interesting in a frightening way. I think you were very wise to shoot it through a car window.

that's a nice one.

my parents have one in their basement that could probably fit 5 footballs inside of it.

GW, I'd find it most interesting if you could go back and give us an interior shot with a wide angel. Tell'em you're from a home styling magazine.

good luck with that!

here further north, you can get them down in the winter, just shoot them down or whatever, the hornets that aren't dead from the winter are groggy enough that they won't even bother you. just put a plastic bag over it and a little bit of bug killer and leave it sit for a few weeks. then you are good to with your trophy.

Wow! That is huge! I'm glad you shot it the way you did.
