Default Carolina Chickadees

I posted these over at the Wildlife Photos section too, but wanted some Pentaxians input as well. These are some more test shots with my new (used) A* 300, taken during a brief sunny interlude between the storms. Thanks for any comments & critique!

Also, just for fun, here's my failed attempt at a Pileated Woodpecker! Much too shy and observant for this impatient photographer! Even though this is a bad photo, I found it interesting to see the flight pattern...

Beautifully clean, crisp shots. Love the color. Reminds me of the Field Museum diarama's in Chicago. Great Work!

As I said, you are the master of birds. Love the one of Woody in flight!

All very nice. The woodpecker looks like he was shot out of a cannon.

Those Chickadees are so cute! And I agree with Patty - the woodpecker looks like there's no wings.

The A300 does give you some lovely detail, doesn't it?

Tony - Thanks so much for your kind words. That A* 300 is one sharp lens, especially in bright light.

Jelpee - Definitely not a master, but do enjoy them! Thanks!

Patty - Woodpeckers have an unusual flight pattern (Penolta can probably give us all the details). It's sort of a flap/glide/foldwings series.

Harriet - Yes, despite all the scratches and beat-up body, that is indeed a sharp lens! Actually I'm glad it was so beat up, or I never could have afforded it...

GW - Perhaps I posted in both on purpose, just to confuse you? (or maybe to confuse me??)

The Chickadees are fabulous. The capture of the Pileated is quite an achievment as they are fast and fly in an up and down pattern that is difficult to capture. To do it with a MF lens is frosting on the cake.
