Default My first butterfly this year

When I got home from work, I heard a bird calling and carrying on across the street so, I got my camera and proceeded to try to get a shot. No such luck but, I did get a couple of this little guy. Not one of my best BF shots but not too bad for quickie shot with the 55-300...

Thank you guys,
I was rather surprised they turned out as well as they did.
Most of my hand-held shots at 300mm are pretty shakey.

Really nice GW. It will be quite a while yet before we see any butterflies up in this area. Until then, I have to enjoy all your signs of spring vicariously.

Very nice bright clear shot - fine detail and great composition - is it a Gulf Fritillary? Thanks for sharing these warm photos!

Not too bad for a quickie shot is nothing. This is great!

I need to start reading the butterfly book I bought a while back that includes how to attract them. I'm hoping to get some this year.
