Default Green Heron

Another pretty little heron from Sundays walk.

If you can see it, he has his tongue sticking out the side of his beak.

This one's a little better...

Hi GW,

Nice going! This is one of my favorites to shoot when I can. I usually find them not too skittish, and they seem to have a knack for posing.

I agree, #3 is really nice... lovely colours, too. You really can appreciate the green on his head, the gorgeous yellow... beautiful colours, indeed. Great shot.

I second that. A subject that I love to take except that they are all 3 hours flight away from here.
Not much chance as I have booked flight back to Hong Kong during March break and wild life there amidst skyscrapers is little

Great color and detail in all the photos - habitat shots as well as detail shots. Ours are never this bold (or maybe I'm just less patient...)

Goldwinger, I look and look at the last shot, the fine detail and colour... may I ask, what lense did you use... what mm you used... do you remember about how far away you were? And the following is NOT a criticism, but I guess if I were photographing this bird, I would take a series of shots in order to decide how blurry I wanted background to be... that just me my perfectionism talking, take no notice of that. Just a nice shot. Ned
