i love the barn! it looks like a postcard. i like both of the woodpeckers, but it seems like the first one has more personality, i guess because he's looking at you more.

Sgarthee - We had a dusting of snow last night, and still flurrying this morning - but the birds are singing their spring songs already! Glad you liked the barn - we are not too far from KY...

Ned - Thanks so much for your detailed and helpful input. To answer your flash question - yes it might be a useful tool, but I do not own an external flash, and the built-in flash is too weak to make much difference at this distance. Perhaps someone else here on the forum might have more insight into this. As far as galleries, I do not have internet at home (must use the public library for non-official internet use)... Glad you enjoyed these!

GW - You are too kind. I'm sure your RBW is at least as good as mine - post it anyway!

Tony - Thanks for saying so! I live in a very beautiful place (could probably take nice looking pictures with my eyes shut...)

Harriet - Thanks! There sure are some amazing photographers posting here (you are one of them!)

Vole - Thanks for taking time to comment - I know you are very busy these days! Glad you enjoyed them!

Great nature shots...excellent detail, love the light...the macro of that snail is really good.

The landscape of the barn with the mountains in the background...wonderful.
