Default Grey day & Spring hint

Out on the trail these grey damp days is not ideal for my (not weather sealed) camera. But even the greyest days are rich in late winter life.

Our park neighbors still have plenty of hay - unlike last few years of drought and poor hay production.

And there are some promises of spring! The Red Bellied Woodpeckers have begun "drumming" to find a mate and defend territory.

And the Forest Snails are emerging from their muddy winter hiding places (This little fellow has just come out - look at his muddy shell!)

So keep your eyes (and ears) open for signs of spring's return to the Nothern Hemisphere! And hope you enjoy the grey as well as the sunny days.

Thanks for any comments/critique!

Spring? Oh yes that comes if winter ever ends... more snow today.

I really like the barn shot. It reminds me of E KY.

Mole, I like the first picture... great composition... the bird is in the lower right.... I have a question, though... if it is an overcast day, and even though you are outside, if the bird is not too far away... have you experimented with using a flash. Looking at your background, and again... I don't mean to belabour the subject of "background", yours is really good... be honest with you, I don't think it could be better... it give me the sense that the bird is outside in his element... my eyes are drawn to the bird!

Your third picture, the one on the left, with the bird with the red head... I love that background... it is very different than the first, but excellent... I don't think it can be improved on... excellent colour, man that red is rich... very nice... and the photo is very sharp.

Last but not least, I have seen some people who have "galleries" that are online... some have pictures divided into subjects. Your birds would make a great subject (division) if you had a gallery. I am sure that other divisions could be your TN landscapes...

Thanks for sharing... All the best.

Ned

Great shots Mole. Its funny, seems like every time I get a shot I think I'll post, you end up posting one just like it... only better!

Love your shots (as always). GW - I can't tell you how many times that's happened to me, and it's not just Mole that takes the better picture, either.
