Default testing new lens...

Yesterday I acquired 4 new(old) Tamron lenses.
1. 300mm f:5.6
2. 135mm f:2.5
3. 28mm f:2.5
4. 80-210mm f3.5/4
5. 2X tele converter
All seem to be in excellent shape. It was dark when I got home so, just for fun I thought I'd try a moon shot with the 300 plus 2X TC =600mm
the funny thing is, the lens is an f:5.6 but, when I mounted it with or without the TC it showed an f:4 as the max aperture
Anyway, here's the shots @ ISO1600 1/125sec.
I'm not impressed with the set up but, a bit surprised it showed as much detail as it did at that ISO.

Or, if you prefer a blue moon...

This one is 600mm @ f:11 1/45sec. ISO 400

Yes the orientation is different, I was shooting pretty much strait up and changed the camera position on the tripod.

You might not be impressed, but I am. The EXIF on the ISO 1600 exposure is all screwed up for some reason - it bears no relationship to reality, but the image is excellent! The ISO 400 exposure EXIF looks normal. Are all these auto lenses, or are some manual or Adaptalls?

Not sure what the problem could be Pen. might have been a poor contact with the P/KA adapter I have, I know it mess up on one of my other lenses that I use it on and I loose the aperture setting from time to time. Also I did do some PP for noise and sharpening.

Great results GW. You have more detail than I can get with my 80-400 with 1.4 TC. Look forward to seeing shots from the others. Nice haul on the lenses.

Thank you both. I took some more pick out in the back yard without the TC and it seems to be about equal to my other 300mm lenses.

Ah, she's still fascinating the beholder through your shots! Having just replaced my bad DAL 55-300 copy with a much better DA 55-300 I also should say I've been badly inspired by your post : )
