Wonderful shots, bigdawg, and lovely family. Hope your wife had a nice birthday. I would send you some pictures I took today before getting lost on a road out in the Finnish woods... but my pictures were taken on a Nokia N95 phone camera... Just can't wait till I get my camera. Then I will send some proper pictures.

All the best, and thanks for sharing.

Ned

It does look like that Viv is going to work well for you! It looks like the first one is focused on the fridge instead of your daughter (?) - it shows that the dof is going to be pretty small with it, even at f5.6. The others are all right-on for focus. The color and contrast is very nice and I love the elephant on your granddaughter's head (is that one of the twins?). Very nice pictures.

Thanks GW. It is not an expensive lens either but it also is manual focus.

Hey Dawg, What a nice looking family. I know you are proud of them. One thing I have realized is how attached we old gramps get to our grandchildren. In the ruckus of childbearing, work, financial worries, etc. of our early families we don't often have the time or temperament to love and nurture our children as we should. But, when our grandchildren arrive, some of the early trials have become more resolved, and our hearts extend to the sprinklings of life we helped create and must soon leave behind.
We can only hope we have done something to beneicially influence their way of life after we are gone.
Kudos, Old Engineer
