Default The one that got away...

I managed to get a few shots of this fellow stalking his lunch. I got a couple of him with a frog in his beak and swallowing it but, they didn't turn out very well. I'm including them just to tell the story.

#1. the hunt...

#2. The capture...

#3. The gulp... This one is really blurry due to slow shutter speed (in the shade) but I thought it was hilarious anyway.

#4. Then the big escape (from me)...

No. 1 is a great shot - that Cattle Egret has a very determined look on his face!

Something swallowed up the gulp, though - picture #3 isn't there.

I like the capture of motion on the "escape"

Of course, #1 is great.

Thank you Ned, I couldn't see what it was he had when I was shooting him but, knew he was determined to keep it. He kept dunking it in the water and shaking his head, walk along a little more and repeat the dunking and shaking. He finally gulped it down.

The series is cute - the picture of the gulp might have a great deal of motion blur, but it fits in well with the series. The one with the frog in his mouth sure shows his concentration.

Nice capture GW! A smart bird, much better eating a frog than kissing it.
