In film days they well well known for their excellent 645 and 6 X 7 system. I rented the 6 X 7 Pentax and the image quality was out of this world.

I do have a Mamiya medium format system with three lenses. The system is big and awkward....but medium format is hard to beat in image quality due to the size of the film or sensor...unless you go large format film and use view cameras.

So in my view Pentax will get into to a medium format line.
How strange the 645 should be mentioned as I have spent a couple of hours this evening reading up on them again ...... I have been interested in Medium Format ever since a colleague brought in some poster size prints that just blew me away with their clarity and sharpness.

Living in Shanghai I have seen plenty of old Mamiyas, Seagulls and Pentax 645n and nII in the specialist shops here. Now I may have to go back again this weekend to check them out again ! The quality is almost worth going back to 120 / 220 film for !
