Default Explosion of Color

This weekend is the Tulip Festival at the botanical garden, but there was plenty of other color in bloom. Particularly beautiful were the hyacinths

These little purple flowers were along one of the paths.

Most of the camillias had come in

and a couple of others

All photos taken with the K20. Lenses used included the Tamron 28-75mm Di LD f/2.8 Macro and the Tamron 70-300mm Di LD Macro.

You have certainly packed your images with color. How does your Tamron 28-75mm Di LD f/2.8 stack up against your DA* zoom?

Since the only DA* zoom I have is the 50-135, the two lenses are difficult to compare. However, I have to say I find I use the Tamron lens more for close-up nature work than any other lens I have, including the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8, the aforementioned 50-135, and any of the other lenses that I have that cover the territory.

I simply like the Tamron's color rendition. Focusing is sharp and precise with AF settings (Note: the hyacinth in #2 above was shot MF with extension tubes, so my lack of visual acuity is to blame for softneww.)

In connection with the DA*50-135, I have to also admit I haven't been nearly so pleased with the lens since I had an accident with the original copy, dropped it, and was sent a repair/replacement by Pentax.

From viewing all these fine color shots the Tamron looks to be doing everything you would want from a lens. The color rendering is super!

Another fine flower series.

Lovely, Paul. I really like the hyacinth and the fourth purple one. Lovely composition of it.

Glorius explosion of colors Paul! I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried. In my area crocuses and daffodils are up, but are not yet blooming. Thank you for posting these, as it's the time of year when I really want to see some color outdoors.

Some great color & detail, and excellent composition as well. All are wonderful, especially like the red camillia...
