Default First Day of Spring

Took advantage of the perfect weather yesterday. A friend and I took off for the beach. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just perfect!

The first three shots are showing the sand that has come up from the beach into the parking area from all our recent storms. Underneath all that sand is a blacktop driveway. And, the black railing (barely visible) is the railing that goes the length of the beach along the sidewalk. The specks in the sky are kites.

Taken with the K20 and Zenitar 16mm fisheye.

Patty

Yes, it was a glorious first day of Spring in northern New England. Your photos really capture the feeling that prevailed throughout the region. Unfortunately I had to attend a training session, so while you were having fun at the beach, I was dressed up in a Haz. Mat. suit, practicing stopping leaks from overturned tanker trucks. I think I would have preferred being on the beach!

I KNOW that I would prefer being at the beach over being in a hazmat suit. That's no fun at all, especially if it were warm at all.

Patty, your beach pictures are lovely! Are they going to dig all that sand out and put it back on the beach where it belongs? They worry about too much erosion around here after a bunch of storms.

Enjoy the sun and beach! We still have about 2 - 2.5 feet of snow cover, and was 8 fahrenheit this morning... uggg... Anyway, thanks for the photos! Ned

Beautiful day, well photographed. They have a lot of work ahead to get all that sand back to the beach.

Patty-

That is a very nice photo set. It looks like you have had a real shift in the weather over the last 4 to 6 weeks. Wow!
