Default First shots - K7 and 18-55 WR

Right first of all, I must say it was bucketing down with rain (hence only using the WR lens on this occasion) and it was dark, dreary and miserable, so had to boost the saturation/curves a bit. Also do the usual tiny USM even though it doesn't make a difference when scaled down to web friendly sizes.

I took my mate into town when I swapped my faulty K-7 for a new one as he wanted to learn the manual settings on his camera. Fair play to him, he took to it luck a duck to water and was fiddling and really getting into it. These shots are what I took from ideas I suggested to him. Not necessarily my thing, there's only so many Victorian cast iron lights you can take photo's of in the rain.

The K-7 and the kit lens worked brilliantly in this weather though, I can't wait for the weather to improve so I can see how it copes in better light. As it stands, it's an absolute bargain, I saw almost no CA on any of the images, it is fast to focus, feels sturdy and the new grip is great.

Anyway, onto the images:

Thanks for looking.

Nice shots from your new lens. Number 3 would be a nice picture to enter in the March Challenge (Reflections in glass).

Very nice! I agree about the third one - it's perfect for this month's challenge.

Glad you got the camera issue settled so quickly. And, looks like it's doing a fine job for you. I agree with the others. #3 was my favorite and would make a perfect submission for this month's challenge.

Very nice pictures. I'm envious about the weather sealed kit lens. That seems like a nice addition to Pentax's lineup.
