Default Loxahatchee Ods ND eNDS

At Loxahatchee I have been concentrating on progress of the Owl and Hawk's nests. Here are some other recent captures. The rabbit was on the way to check on the owl. In a 15 ft wide clearing the rabbit started into the brush on my way in, when it saw I was not a threat it went back to eating. On the way out the same. The Limpkin framed itself for me while observing the Hawk. The Great Egret with the band also showed while observing the Hawk's nest. The King bird I caught on the way back to my car.

These are all beautiful Ed. Thank you for visiting the wildlife refuge so regularly, and for posting your pics so faithfully. I can't tell you how much I enjoy seeing all the critters that frequent your neighborhood.

Very nice series. Your rabbits are certainly different than ours. The last one is my favorite - good job on a black and white bird.

Is that a Kingbird or a Shrike...wondering about the hook on the bird's bill ?

Very sharp pictures.

Looks like a kingbird to me - and a great photo of one too! All are great - thanks for sharing the fruits of your hours of observation! My favorite is the Limpkin - perfect framing & composition, amazing detail and wonderful OOF background too!

Nice days work, Ed.
I really like the King bird a lot. And the Limpkin is excellent too.

What was the Limpkin doing up in a Cypress tree?
