Apple Blossom Time in Tennessee
2 Attachment(s)
It's been over a week since I had time to stop by - busy with some big park events and spring trail work. But not too busy to enjoy the amazing warm sunny springtime here in East Tennessee!

Our apple trees are coming in to bloom across the region...

Crabapple trees make great perches for the Carolina Chicadees!

Chipping sparrows are singing like crazy around the nest sites, and bluebirds are already carrying food to their nest-holes.

Some of our later spring blooms are appearing, like Columbine, Bellwort and PawPaw.

The hills and farms are green with the lush grass and leafing trees.

Moths, Butterflies and Dragonflies are all emerging in large numbers with the warmth and sun.
First is a very tattered old Polyphemus moth, wonder if it survived from last winter?
Then two Swallowtails - Pipevine and Tiger.
And finally a dragonfly species (still working on the identification...)

And, of course, warm sunshine has been great for the reptiles too! This fine little Milk Snake was very cooperative for several poses.

Expecting plenty of good rain and a bit cooler the next few days. Should bring out even more spring green and bloom!

Hope your season is progressing well, and your travels are safe and exciting ones!

Thanks for any comments/critique.

What a great spring series, mole! My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves down there for the brief period we spent there. As I mentioned, my wife actually started to cry as we pulled away from our cabin. I must admit that I wasn't thrilled about leaving either. :icon_sad:
