Superb illustration of the aerodynamics of stall - you can see the feathers being lifted up by the turbulence and lowered air pressure above the steeply inclined wings as lift is being lost in preparation for the landing. These are textbook illustrations if I ever saw any.

amazing photos, both of them
although luck played a part, skill is also needed
i like the symmetry of the first and the angle of the second
i think i would be to busy watching the bird land and forget to press the shutter
