Default Another Macro test...

I was really bored sitting around the house for the past two days so, I decided to try another shot of a dandelion bloom but, this time indoors out of the wind. I picked 5 or 6 before I got one into the house before it fell apart.

I set up a background cloth on the dining room table, using a clamp to hold the dandelion and my tripod. I did use the new macro rails I bought but only for fine focus adjustment, not multi frames for stacking. Anyway, after getting a few shots with the SP90 and editing them, I noticed a couple little tiny green bugs on one of the buds. I couldn't see them with my naked eye.
I took a couple more shot aiming for the bugs and then tried it again with the extender tube. Well, the extender tube shots came out much worse than the bare lens so next I'll be testing with the SP 2X TC and see how that does. for now, here is what I got
...

If you look real close you might be able to see the bugs on the middle left bud.

I moved it a few inches closer and re shot.

Here is a crop, now you can see them better...

This crop is over 100%...

And in this one you can see a third bug hiding down in the lower left...

All taken with the 540 flash with the built in defusser down plus my Lumiquest Soft box. ISO 100 F:22 and 1/180sec

BTW, this macro rail is sweet! very smooth and very fine adjustment.

very nice series here. These turned out great. Even over 100% it still looks sharp. Was this with the da* 31 macro?
