Default Caversham wildlife park

one of the best places to Australian animals in Perth is Caversham Wildlife park, unfortunately a lot are behind wire fences or in wire enclosed exhibits
but you will get to see them. Most Australian mammals would be nocturnal.
But they do have a few walk in exhibits which are great for photos
Here are a few I took, all with the DA* f4 300mm ( I set my self a challenge not to change the lens)

male Eclectus parrot (not local), the 300mm has a strange effect when shooting through wire

a Barking owl (yes the do say woof woof) again though wire

The close-ups are great images. Love the color on the parrot (#1) as well!

Some great shots there - enjoyed those very much. I can see what you mean about the 300 having a strange effect through wiring : it turned the possum yellow !

Very nice set - I LOVE the parrot with the owl being a close second favorite. But the whole set is wonderful - makes me want to go to the zoo and take pictures (only they don't have as interesting animals). Thanks for posting them, it looks like you had a fun day.
