Default Fort and Zoo

Well, as you can see I've been a little more active lately with the photos, the weather has been great and it's rejuvenated me for the summer. I have grown up in this region and you'd think that winter would be in my blood, but it's not, I hate that season. And starting this friday my shift changes at work so I will be off saturday and sunday for about 3 months which means a lot more weekend day trips around the region and chances to photograph stuff that I like. Stay tuned for more. As for this bunch: yesterday we took a day trip to Rome, NY to see Fort Stanwix National Monument. Rebuilt in the late 1960s and presented as a birthday present to the USA in recognition of the bicentennial of the declaration of independence, Fort Stanwix was a key frontier fort during the revolutionary war and shortly after. It was abandoned before 1800, played no part during the War of 1812. Worth a visit if you are in Rome, NY as it's part of the National Parks it's free admission.

These are from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, we stopped here after Fort Stanwix since Syracuse is fairly close and you know kids like zoos.

Hope you enjoyed this, thank you for looking, if you would like to see more you can go here for the rest of the gallery: Fort Stanwix and Rosamond Gifford Zoo

Looks like a nice day trip. All are nice, but I really like the tulip.
