Default Doing the backstroke in my dog's water dish

I went out to refresh the dogs water dish when I found this beetle on its back, floating on top and said hmmm... might make a good specimen for trying out my macro set up. here is a shot just to see the size. this one was a bout

This is the guessing contest "name that Bug" You'll even get extra points if you guess what container I was holding him in.

just one more shot for today. this should give you a good start on "Name that bug".

Go ahead give it a try.

This gets better as I will post better photos as the days go by.
and, I cant wait to show you the best macro I've taken so far...
On a scale of 1-5 I got a couple i that I think I can label 4+ easily.

Ha ha - well your bugs are all different to ours (I guess) and ours won't even come out of hiding yet (and it was 26C yesterday) ! I suspect they are don't believe the weatherman either. So I have no idea what it is. Looking forward to the 4 star + shots !

No idea about the bug either (different country as well), but the container looks like one of those twist-open lens filter cases.

Ding Ding Ding!... You're quite right, Tachi.
Only this one is customized, Linda left it on the dash in the hot sun and part of it melted.

Well, it is only April, but we used to call them May Beetles or June Bugs. This one was too early for its own good.

Thank you so much Pen, I had a feeling that if you were out there lurking you let me know what it was! He's a strange looking bug up close. kind of comical in some of the shots I got, I mean, who wears kidney bean slippers on there antenna?
