Default Greene Mountain

Have been out on the trails a lot this past week, not able to "stop by" here at all (looks like I've missed a lot of great posts too!)

Spent some time up on Greene Mountain, checking out some rare plant populations.

Some of the more interesting-looking plants up on Greene Mountain are Lousewort (what a cute name...) and, in a small upland bog, Golden Club.

Some of the prettiest blooming things on the mountain were the Birds Foot Violet (their leaves actually do look a bit like a bird's foot)

All the cool, damp weather up on the mountain is perfect for various spring fungi.

And a great sign of the health of this forest, and of the progress of the season, is that Luna Moths are emerging in good numbers.

I love your photos Mole. Especially the Golden Club and Luna Moths, great looking insects - I'd love to get my macro on them !

Great set as usual Mole!
