Default Maybug!

Well just woke up, dragged my half asleep bum into the garden to "stretch my lungs" (have a smoke) and spotted something (through bleary eyes) on the dead tree in my garden.

Quickly ran back inside to grab my camera, the neighbours must have had a funny expression watching a 6'2" man in a dressing gown taking photo's of the side of a tree in his garden at 8:00am

Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro and the 2x TC extension tube, Av mode, f5.6-8

This was a study of his legs as I find them fascinating (and pretty vicious looking)

Just about to pick my Tamron up, but then have to go to work... doubt I will see another one for a while, they are pretty scarce around where I live...

Great detail and great color as well. It's a fine study of the powerful legs, and a wonderful face shot. Would love to see a whole body photo too.

Great shots, and your 'bleary eyes' must be a lot better than mine.

Thanks both!

I fired off as many photo's as I could in the short amount of time I had before I had to get ready for work, will have another look at what I shot when I get back from work. Pretty sure I have a "full body" shot, just can't remember if it was in focus.

Just about to go for my lunchtime walk with the new Tamron 90mm, only 25 minutes to go, can't wait!

Hi mate

They are hosted on Imageshack, let me know a free online photo host that works for you and I will re-upload them.

Good Job, Mate!
I had to laugh out loud picturing you taking those shots.

Not to worry though, I've been in similar situations myself...

Thanks GW!

Went out for a smoke just before bed and the poor thing is still around, battering itself against the window of the people living opposite me. It seems to think their upstairs window is somewhere to land, or a guide to navigation (like moths)

Thanks for the full body photo - really nice detail.
Around here we have a similar species that some folks call "door knockers," because of the way they keep beating themselves against the screen door...
