Default My First M42 has arrived !

Some sample photos from the garden taken today with my newly arrived CZJ MC Electric 135 / 3.5. I love this lens !

I won two auctions for packages on EBay this week so have a number of other M42 lenses on the way : 2x SMC Takumars 50/1.4, SMC Tak 300/4. Vivitar 28/3.5, Viv x2 MC, and a SMC Tak 135/3.5 (all that lot for $320 - seems like a bargain to me) ! Will post samples from those once they arrive in 2-3 weeks.

Focus is a touch off in #1 but I love the symmetry anyway
#2 is original - no PP
#3 is 100% crop no other PP
#4 is original - no PP
#5 is original - no PP

More.

There are a number of 100% crops in here and above and I'll reload them all later as they are definitely sharper than shown here (although they were under 1240 and less than 240K, they all seem to have uploaded as very small file sizes for some reason.

I think so Tachi - I also got two Spotmatic F cameras included as well as a bunch of other accessories. For most the M42 is a worry but as Big Dawg has just said in another thread once you get comfortable using the adapter (I'm half way there) then the lenses are more than worth the prices they can be picked up for (especially in the UK BTW where they often go for GBP10 to 30 each. The lenses can be 30 to 70 years old but there are some gems in the later (coated) ones. I just love the bokeh this lens gives and it's very sharp too.

Have fun with them but be careful too. They are a ton of fun to shoot and can be very inexpensive. Watch out though...they can be addictive.

Nice going Kevin! You are braver than I am, far back as my collection goes is the K mount manual. I counted all my glass a while back and was surprised that between me and my wife, we have 30 lenses including 4 TC's several are duplicates, I just have a hard time passing up a bargain.

Well if you dispose of your duplicates you could then buy a whole plethora of M42s or maybe something else in a PK your heart is desirous of ?

if you didnt get a pentax branded m42 adapter throw it away.

mine has been stuck on the camera for over a week, as Im sure you know.

It wont come off and ive tried over 10 hours

i can also count over 30 spots on my mirror that wont blow off because of the metal shavings

im going to have to send my camera back to pentax to see if they can remove the m42 adapter/clean out insides (this crap wont come out )

Im at my wits end and you dont wanna be where i am now.

also want to say it doesnt matter how gentle or how much u think uve figured out that adapter, it just takes one magic moment for that little piece of crap to decide it doesnt wanna come off and its all over.

I didnt force mine or abuse it any way (until it got stuck that is) and it still decided to burn me
