Default Ozone Falls & more

Not much time for photography lately - been travelling to a number of other parks, assisting with events, etc.

On the way to one conference, had a few moments to stop at one of our state natural areas called Ozone Falls. It's a fine little natural area, and a 110 foot waterfall. Here are several views from the top of the falls:

Found this fine little American Toad while at the conference - he became a short-term teaching aid before we released him back into the damp leaves.

Later, was leading a number of hikes at Roan Mt State Park - a beautiful gem in the state park system. I don't feel right stopping the group to let me take photos, so did not take any during the hikes. But one group spotted some very rare wildflowers on the trail, so I returned later (on my own time) to get these shots of Yellow Lady's Slipper: (any preferences?)

Looking for a stormy week this week, but still hope to get out on the trail for some late-spring discoveries.

Thanks for any comments & critique!

a nice set as always mole.

from your waterfall shots. i prefer the side-view, that is presented in the second set. and by far of this second set, the first shot of the second set is my favorite. the wider perspective gives it context, and my absolute favorite part is the lush green that frames it nearly on all sides, that is a really nice image.

i like the first frog image too, the kind of head-on view.

the lady slipper, i like image #3, it has the best contrast, and i like the lines formed by its leaves and stems and the angle they make in this one.

What Hards80 said, exactly the same here, I love the first shot of the second waterfall set, the framing really does it justice, but the closer crops are also excellent.

Nice series Mole, I think I like the 3rd shot of the second set of the falls.
and the Iris shots are making me hungry. All I can think about is bacon & eggs.

I agree - the wider view of the waterfall (first one of the second set) is just outstanding! Really special. I wanted to try to take some waterfalls and went over to the closest one that I know about (Millard Falls). before I left I checked the forest service map and the way it was drawn, I thought the falls area was open, but not so - the road in is closed due to the Station Fire. Some day I hope to visit one and hope to get something that is even half as good as yours.
