Default A few more from the Mayfair...

The city library is just across the street from the lake where they hold the annual Mayfair. They had a stage set up for some of the local artiste to perform. The seating was in the shade and there was a nice breeze blowing so, it was pleasant even though it was really warm out.
we got front row seats about 30 feet from center stage but, the wind and fast moving partly cloudy skies made the lighting very difficult, it was constantly changing as the clouds moved in and out. And, unfortunately I was having trouble with focusing that day so these pics really weren't what I'd call keepers. I'll hang onto about 3 dozen out of the 500 just for the memories.
A group of ladies have a belly dancing routine that they perform on occasion and it was fun to watch. I wouldn't normally post such poor photos but, there is a couple funny stories I wanted to share that wouldn't make sense otherwise.
I apologies for the soft focus and blown highlights.

All the ladies were pretty but, a few had a little more to show off than I would be willing to if it were me.

They had some pretty interesting, colorful costumes.

This was one of the pretties dance routines. I was hoping the white see through drape would shoe up better but, I think you can get the idea. The wind was blowing just hard enough to give her a bit of a problem but, she handled it quite well.

This is one of those times it would have been nice to have the video option.

Now here's one of the funny stories. there was two little children a little to my right that were playing and entertaining themselves as the parents were watching the different acts. when the belly dancers started they turned to look and then just stood there mesmerized for the next 30 minuets as they took in the show!

The other funny story...
over to the left of the stage there was a park bench facing the audience, where a homeless man was sitting. between the different acts that were performing, a DJ would play some music. Wen he put on "Bad to the Bone" this guy got up and started playing the air guitar, then switched to the sax. I still don't know why I couldn't get a focused shot, these would have been great if they were clear and sharp.

I took one shot with the 12-24 and new it wasn't going to work so I walked all the way to the car and back to get my 55-300. about a 3/4 mile walk each way

the air sax.

The guy was just too funny! he was really getting into it.
When he left he waved good by to the crowd and they applauded.

Great series, would also love to see them a bit larger.

The portrait (nr5) is as perfect as it gets.

Thank you for those kind words Ronny!
OK, OK, seems I can't get away with anything here. I was trying to keep em small so they didn't look quite as bad. so... I went ahead and changed them out.
