Default New kid(s) on the block

Every year we have at least one nest of blackbirds in our garden.

This time with the bad weather, me having removed their favorite bush to make their nest in, we didn't know what would happen.

Yesterday we spotted their little ones, dad was trying to feed nr1 - without succes, mom was busy with nr2.

Dad and nr1 (had to use a flash )

f6.7 - 1/125sec - iso400 - 138mm - flash fired

Think pinecone, think pinecone, think pinecone, and he won't notice me.

f6.7 - 1/180sec - iso400 - 240mm - flash fired

Second series, (without flash)

Feeeeeeeed me

f5.6 - 1/180s - iso800 - 300mm

Master of the garden

f5.6 - 1/350sec - iso800 - 180mm

A last look

f4 - 1/250sec - iso800 - 180mm

All taken with a k20d and sigma100-300 f4 ex apo...

Cheers

Ronny

Love 3 & 5 Ronny.

3 - for the movement shown by the blurred wings and open mouth.
5 - for the perspective and OOF.

Just lovely, Ronny!
Around here a lot of small birds like tits have failed with their nesting. The weather is so cold that there are not enough insects to feed the offspring.

Thanks Guys

Kjell sorry to hear that, but understandable we're having 14° now as top temp, you being that more to the north it must be even a lot worse.

Great telling of the story! All very well-composed, and I especially enjoyed the "pine cone act."

Thanks Guys,

I don't know what triggered the pine cone act but it stayed in that position till I went away
