Default Some flies from the last days

Didn't find that much interesting insects last days, so I tried some fly shots.
All where taken with k20d, kiron105mm, dual flash.


1/180sec - f8 - iso400


1/125sec - f9.5 - iso200

#3 Robberfly (Common Awl Robberfly - just a guess)

Not sure we have any Robber flies here - I sure haven't seen any !

Awesome, I love 1, 3, and 5!

I see why you thought my fly was a robber fly as well, very similar head and thorax.

My favourite is #6 for the colour, composition and beautiful capture. And #5 is amazing with that amazing detail in the eyes and the cool colours.

Isn't it amazing to see the diversity in some "common" flies! Very nicely photographed too - excellent eye for detail & composition!
