Default Fooled Again

Well I'll put these up anyway ...... 'fraid you'll just have to take my word for the fact that they are sharper than they will appear here.

I mistakenly thought shots #1 thru #4 were a bee until someone corrected me, seems it is a male hoverfly and #5 is the female. The huge difference in the compound eyes completely fooled me (though it should have been obvious - completely the wrong shape) - hence the incorrect titles !

Thanks John ! I should mention that was the only one of the series that was focus stacked (5 shots if I remember correctly).

Really nice Kev!
#4, looks like its made of denim cloth. And I like #5 real well, too.

Aw, Ash, you got nothing to complain about.

LOL @ Ash !

Thank you GW - I love compound eyes, they are just so interesting !

You are too kind Mole, thank you so much for the ego massage, it has taken me hundreds of shots and having tried a number of different set-ups to to get these few !

Great work, is nr4 a closer crop of nr3.

The detail in the eyes in nr4 is incredible, you can even see different heights in them.

Stunning work

Ronny
