Default I ain't afraid of hights, ...

I keep telling myself, but then I really don't feel comfortable about them either.

So when we (my wife and friends ) went yesterday for a walk over the fair in Antwerp, I was happy they passed the ferris wheel ... ... ... the first time, the second time however.

I had one thing going for me, my camera. I was more looking at it than the surrounding view.

All shots with a k20d, 18-200tamron , rather high iso settings and noise reduction in LightRoom3. (last two the main reason I wanted to post them)

iso1600 - 1/90sec - f5.6 - 18mm

iso1 - 1 - f16 - 18mm - camera propped against an attraction

The roof of the new courthouse, a bit to dark and to far away.

iso3200 - 1/30sec - f5.6 - 110mm

A view of the fair.

iso3200 - 1/30sec - f3.5 - 18mm

A shot of the scheldt the river Antwerp is build to

iso3200 - 1/8sec - f3.5 - 18mm

Cheers

Ronny

Great shots, Ronny. I really like the courthouse roof and the fair overview.

Nice shots!

The noise reduction is pretty damn impressive yet again, normally I wouldn't bother taking a shot if it needed ISO 3200, might have to get a copy of LightRoom3!

Wonderful light! Great comparison of the effects of shutter speed.
And what amazing composition and color on the river shot!

I don't use ISO 3200 that much either, but I knew I wouldn't get a descent shot anyway and am happy with the results.

For the noise reduction, never liked anything adobe had, got a version of NoiseNinja and was really happy with it. Now the noise reduction that is included in Lightroom 3 is incredible. Can only advise you to try it out.

Thanks Phil,

concerning the vertigo , as long as I'm on something stable its manageable, here ... ... ...
simply put it almost wasn't, and a flimsy chrome bar that barred the exit didn't help any bit.

These are fabulous, Ronny!
I'm surprised with the ISO 3200 shots, they turned out great.
Funny, the Ferris wheel is one of the few rides I will go on.
They do have
(as you have shown) a fantastic view!
