Default No Flies on Me !

Not much time to shoot this week, what with World Cup football curtailing my sleep and today my daughter arrived here in Shanghai from London, so cleaned up some shots from the garden.

I know the highlights in #3 are blown in places but the fly itself still came out OK so decided to upload it anyway.

Here is a greater than 100% crop of #1 - just so we get a close up of it's compound eyes

Incredible how much detail there is, even in the tiny & commonplace...
And incredible job of capturing that detail!

Many thanks Ash !

Thank you SSG !

Your kind comments are much appreciated Mole - it is amazing once you get in close and personal, just how interesting and detailed the world we can't see with our naked eye really is - it constantly reminds of Men In Black !

Great series, and those blown out highlights don't count because they are not in the subject and totally not drawing my attention.

Again great work

Ronny

Kev, these are great!
Amazing how much colour is reflected off the flower onto the the underside of the fly.
The detail in the crop is fantastic!

Thank you Ronny - I feel better about #3 now

Bock : Glad you liked them ! I was using the K7 with Tamron 90 Di Macro straight up (no extensions or Raynox this time).

Thank you GW ! I don't know if anyone noticed with the crop but I used the 'Blur' brush in A3 to blur out everything around the actual eye itself to hopefully bring more definition to the compound eye.
