Default a bit more than a few roses

My wife just turned .... , and because she really likes roses we visited Castle Coloma near Brussels.

It's the largest rose garden I've been in, (not that I've been in many).

some shots of that day.

The castle itself

The birthday girl,

The flowers (some of them anyway).

A higher view of a small part of the park. To bad I couldn't get a complete view of it. (and I have to get a new cpl)

Cheers

Ronny

Congratulations to your lovely bride, Ronny. Lots of really great shots here. I think my favorites are #6 and #8. The use of the out of focus background is very effective in #6 along with your composing the shot so that the primary subject is on the left third line. The crispness and detail on #8 are stunning.

#3 and #5 are not far behind.

While all of these are great shots, Ronny, I like that last one of a Scentsational rose. At least, that's what I think it is.

that looks like a beautiful place to visit! my favorite is #3. nice depth of field, and the color really pops on that dark background.

I like your series Ronny, great composition in the 1st one. The last rose looks like it was painted; beautiful. I really appreciate these, as I have never had any luck in growing roses myself. Thanks for posting.

Very nice! #6 is my favorite, love the way that one came out. I gotta try a shot like that sometime, the wide angle is so effective and I never think about doing something like that. The whole series is excellent, wish I could have joined you.

What a great birthday present! And so well photographed too! Amazing variety of color and pattern in these diverse rose varieties...
