Default Transportation Ideas

I can't believe more people aren't posting transportation ideas this month. I've been having a lovely time shooting on my lunch breaks, coming up with new transportation ideas. All of these are just snaps, but perhaps they'll give someone else some ideas for this great topic.

Air Transport:

Waiting for Transportion, Transporting Stuff and Transporting Text:

Water Transport:

Transporting Power to the People:

People Transportation:

Slower Paced Transportation:

Paper Transport:

Transportation for Pizza:

Transporter for Shopper (or Out of Place Transportation because this shopping cart was blocks away from the store it belongs to):

Broken Transportation:

And for the last one -

Intriguing set of pics - particularly the one of your 'shank's ponies'.

Some pretty creative thinking on your part, Harriet.
I never would have thought "transportation" in that manner.

Thanks - several of these ideas occurred to me just yesterday. But I've been considering various ways to interpret "transportation" for a while. Yesterday I had just tried to take a picture of emergency transportation (an ambulance with lights on), failing miserably, and was idling looking at the air handling equipment pictured here. The thought came to me that it transports air (you can tell my job is related to construction) and the idea for the water and power came to mind. It was great fun, going around and trying various shots of places that I walk past every day and thinking of them in a different way.

I won't tell you how many failed pictures of shopping carts I took before I spotted that red one abandoned on the sidewalk. I used Topaz Lab's Detail to darken the greens and brighten the reds so that the cart stood out against the ivy background, the reason for the multiple day/multiple shot failure rate. There wasn't enough room to properly separate the cart from the background and the DA 35 macro has a pretty big dof.

Most of the shots have had some fairly significant processing done - several are HDR, often needed when shooting outdoors at noon. The feet picture is a consolidation of two shots at two different apertures - there wasn't a big enough dof for the feet in the 77mm f2.8 shot, but the grass was perfect. The f5.6 shot had the feet the way I wanted, but the grass wasn't as good, so I layered them and used a layer mask on the f5.6 shot to block out the grass, letting the smoother background show through.

I also used the DA 55-300 for some of the other pictures.
