Default Polynesian Culture Center

One of the things I enjoy about photography in Hawaii is the incredible range of colors, and nowhere is that more true than at the Polynesian Culture Center, a facility which stresses the diversity of cultures found in the South Pacific. Each afternoon, the featured cultures participate in a Rainbow Float Parade through the central part of the park, each culture featuring a native dance, with the colors of the costumes indicating the island. In order, Aotearoa (the Maori culture of New Zealand)--greeen, Samoa--purple, Fiji--brown/green, Hawaii--blue, Tonga--red, and Tahiti--yellow

I hope the colors are good on these. I have to edit on a small laptop out here, and I never feel confident about colors until I go home and check them on a desktop.

The center is divided geographically by island with shows featuring one or more aspects of island culture.

You captured the colors of the island very well...there is a sturation of color and character to tropical locales that cannot quite be described, but can only be experienced...or shown in photographs! Looks like you had some nice difused lighting to shoot in ...i.e no hard shadows. Very nice Paul!

The colors look correct, but most of us who haven't been there wouldn't know if they weren't. You captured the moods very well. Except for the one sourpuss in purple, they all look pleased with what they are doing.

Wonderful sequence. Number one looks like the Maori Haka Dance. I will show you some of these in my pictures from Rotorua, NZ.

You got fantastic color and wonderful action shots that captured the mood of the dancers perfectly. Nice shooting Paul! It sounds like you have recovered and are having a great time.

You're right on target, Lou. It is the Haka. I can't wait to see more of your Australia/NZ shots.
