Default Airliners.net & my K10D

I had tried for years to get pictures of aircraft accepted at airliners.net using my Pentax gear and kept getting turned down for just about every conceivable reason. Well...my luck changed today when my first image with the K10D & DA 18-250 passed the screenings and was officially accepted. Along the way, I have no doubt improved my technique...which probably had more to do with it than the gear.

For anyone interested, here is the link: http://www.airliners.net/photo/1745927/L/

Congrats, Jehan! Persistance does pay off. Nice shot, too.

Way to go Jehan! Nice shot of the 767 and great detail of the NLG.

When we flew to Oz we flew the new Airbus A380. I wanted desperately to get a good shot of the plane from the terminal. Could not see it in LA or Melbourne from the terminal. I did get a poor shot of it from the Auckland airport.

The A380 is a big boy. All the airlines flying it, has a hell of a business class and first class. But it is slow.

Thanks Hawgwild...yes, persistence, and incorporating feedback seems to have worked!

Thanks Lou. I took this image from inside the terminal building and was not at all sure that it would pass muster. It is exciting to see a "heavy" up close and photographing it makes for a dramatic perspective. The view of the first officer always adds to the image as well.

Am envious that you flew on the A380...would love to photograph it.

Hi CL..thanks. I photographed this in Chicago following my arrival from Abu Dhabi (returning from Sri Lanka), while waiting for the connection to Cincinnati. It was a nice change of landscape from Cincinnati and Delta regional jets.

Way to go, Jehan!
Great shot, maybe you should keep that lens.

Congrats! Considering the huge number of photos that site receives every day, getting accepted by them is quite an accomplishment. I have a friend who follows that type of thing and was sometimes amazed at the number of excellent shots that were turned down. He would have been envious if he had taken half of them!
