my vote goes for mole's sunset, landscape. also love the B&w rendition, (probably more so than original) but its a terrific shot nonetheless.

the second place was the sewing machine, I had a hard time picking but in the end I went with moles for right place in right time and pp skill.

Its rare for me to see such beautiful cloud textures that work so well with the mountainous layers of earth's terrain, its almost too picture perfect. A shot like that is one in a lifetime!

A tough month, once again. I'm going to vote for Mole's mountain landscape, it's my type of picture with the gentle coloring and an incredible view. There were a number of other ones I might have voted for with th's sewing machine was my second choice.

Will have to go with mole's landscape as well, but really liked Ned's bridge shot as well.

Hiya! A few of you have kindly mentioned my bridge shot... if I may, I just really appreciate Martin Sykes software for HDR... I think he's done a fantastic job at it... and Martin, if you are ever in Finland... I owe you a good beer for your labours.

Now, if I may... being ever the typical first-born perfectionist, who can leave something alone, but has to mess around with over and over... I have been having some fun with Martin's software... and I urge you to do the same and explore around a bit with it.

Below is the ORIGINAL bridge photo and my FIRST HDR attempt...

The second two photos are with some experimentation with the HDR software... not sure if I improved it or not, but it was very interesting... Again, Martin, if you are out there, thanks for the great software!!!

Nice work Ned!

Not to take the thread too far off topic, but I would clone in the sky/streetlights from the first HDR version into the others as they look a little weird with such a strong HDR effect.

You are absolutely correct... Problem is... I am too new at post-processing for DSLR. No sure how to clone the sky/streetlights... I try to give it a go

Many thanks!

Ned

These challenges are getting harder and harder to make a decision on! I think everyone of them is a winner, they are all outstanding for different reasons.
This is really tough! I'm really taken with Kevin's pluming shot at the Expo, for some reason it really speaks to me. But, after some careful sole searching... I'm going with Mole's shot, partly for sentimental reasons and partly for dramatic before and after results he got!
