Default Medievalweek at Gotland! (many images!!)

hello!

It is this time of year once again, it is time for thousands and thousands of people gathering to "play" medieval times for one week...Today was the "opening", and there is a musical/dance show that tells the story of a young girl accused of being led by devils and sorcery and therefor she is sentenced to be buried alive in the great wall that surrounds the innercity of Visby.

Here are some pictures, the first images are from the day and the latter is from the evening (very cloudy, with some sunlight glowing through the sky at times)

well, enjoy!

(the canon actually fired live!! intense!)

Excellent shots - since it was somewhat cloudy you didn't have to deal with shadows. The last one is really outstanding!

Sounds like a fantastic day! You've shared an excellent series. I really like #2, but there is a shadow or something dark on the left border that I probably would have cloned out. The woman on stilts in #4 is a great subject. It's too bad you couldn't isolate her further from the modern-dress visitors to the right.

I really like #5 and #7. The composition and lighting on #5 make emotion jump out of this photo. The only thing I might improve would be to re-crop so that subjects are on the left 1/3 line.

Looks like one of those days when "a good time was had by all."
