Default Death by Dragonflies!

Yep, more Anisoptera, probably the last of the year, they are getting thin on the ground (and in the air) now. Found another rather helpful soul, took photo's for about 10 minutes, and he only flew off when I accidentally hit his wing with the front of the lens!

Apologies for the large volume of images, but wanted to know what sort people prefered.

Whoa, Now that's getting up close!
Detail is fantastic, specially in #6! wish I could get that kind of results without being in a studio controlled environment.
Really nice job my friend.

Nice series of close-ups Ash. Fine detail and as usual, I enjoy seeing the eye facets up close

Thanks all!

I must admit I prefer the closer the better, but after a while they just seem samey, so was curious if others prefered closer photo's of something a bit more "artistic"

I really like number 4 for the reflections in the wings and the pose.

All are wonderfully sharp & clear - they sure show your skill & patience!
Detail photos are great illustrations, both of the amazing complexity even in tiny places, and of your talent. In fact, the "tail end" shot would be very useful for identification purposes as well.
But I really prefer seeing the entire "bug," especially #2 - black background for detail, but a bit of the habitat as well...
