i'm afriad i wouldn't make a nature photographer i would have intervened to save the little guy if it wasn't to late - hard to tell from the shots if he had already passed away by the time you found them or not though

my condolences though - even a spider can become a pet of sorts if you see it everyday and photograph its journey - sadly this ones journey ended violently

although it is so sad to lose your tiny friend, i am glad that you at least got some great photos out of the sad event. also, that last photo of him eating the mite is superb!

Thanks both!

Yeah it was tempting to intervene, but there wasn't really much point, he had already been bitten at least once before I grabbed my camera, and he is (was) tiny, so trying to free him from the web would have probably injured him more.

He was still moving up until the last pictures when he was bitten again, then he stopped.
