Default Ancient Town of Qi Bao

I will add to this over the next week but just the one shot to get us started !

Qi Bao is a town just 5 miles from my home in Shanghai, it is a recognised, but very minor, Water Town, of which there are a few in and around the Shanghai municipality. This was taken with the Sigma 10-20 on a K7. Manual exposure, 1/200, F5.6, ISO 200, at 12mm. Light was fading but I wanted to keep the speed up (wind) and ISO down !

Gorgeous shots!

I love this sort of scenery, and the street shots are always great to get a window into another culture.

Beautiful pictures Kevin. They stir memories of my visit 2 years ago to Zhu Jia Jiao. Was number 4 taken from a bridge?

Thank you for your kind comments Gents ! I'm pleased you enjoy this series.

Lou - Zhu Jia Jiao is only about 40 miles from my home ! It is far superior to Qi Bao but it also underwent a complete overhaul about 7 or 8 years ago to improve the environment there (similar to that Qi Bao is undergoing now), which was becoming very dilapidated. What a pity I didn't know you were here !

#4 is the 'lane' family, do you mean #3 ? If so then no, it wasn't taken from a bridge but I found a narrow lane between buildings that led down to a tiny jetty - that's where I shot that scene from.

The images are nice in a special way for me. When I am in a foreign town etc. and have my camera with me I tend to take similar shots (don't laugh). I am not sure for #3, but the other shots all look like a scenery to me, where I would have stopped and at least watched closer - chances are high, that I would have tried to take a similar photo.

A somewhat strange feeling , And yes - I like the images

Cheers mate,
Th.
