Default short walk with new lens!

thanks to my great friend mole (thank you thank you thank you!!!) i have a new lens! It is a Pentax-A zoom, 1:4 70~210mm. i have not had too mush time to play with it yet (student teaching is taking LOTS of time!) but i went for a short walk in my neighborhood, and here are a few shots. First, the leaves are starting to turn, but so far just a hint of yellow on the maples:

Although technically it is fall, the butterflies don't seem to know that, and are still out and about:

The biggest sign of fall in my neighborhood is actually the growing number of mums in neighborhood gardens!

Those photos look excellent, Vole-

The butterfly shot and the last photo showcase that lens quite nicely.

Great shots - wonderful bokeh from that lens. I'm actually bidding on a package that includes this lens so I think I may have to up my max bid a bit more !

Great lens in great hands! Of course I expect (and always see) beautiful composition from you, but these also show the excellent color and sharpness of that "little" lens! Really nice use of DOF too!

By the way, your butterfly is a Gulf Fritillary, a more southern species which comes up into TN in the late summer or autumn. So it is an early fall sign too!

PS - love the "grumpy" expression on your mockingbird too!
