Default Going on a Nostalgia Trip!

Well rummaging through my camera equipment i came across my first SLR camera a Pentax MZ-50 - very much a beginers camera and frankly didn't use it all that much - the kit lens for it was horrible, soft, slow, not very wide affair - so i look out my pentax A-50mm f1.4 and slap it on and it looks good...... and well i ordered some film for it!!

will have to go back to basics since no matrix metering now or even autofocus with this lens

once i get the film take some shots and get it processed will post what i come up with and see how much i owe the wonders of modern technology

Saw a guy on one of the Tuktoyaktuk day tours with a Canon digital Rebel and an old Pentax K1000 film camera. He was using them both. I have a K1000, a film KX and an old SF1. I used the K1000 for nearly 25 years before the shutter failed. Great cameras and still great fun since there is that anticipation waiting for the prints to come back. We have lost that little bit of magic.

ive got the same K1000, and had that same 40-80 macro ( I believe the lens on the right there)

it was a nice lens but I sold it because it got 1:4 and I have several macros that get twice as close, but it was a nice lens

I love the build quality and size of the k1000. some say looks vintage, I say futuristic. If you ever check out concept designs youll see what I mean. The stainless look, engravings, sleek design.
