Default Update on K7 repairs

Hi all, Just thought I'd give you a little update on my camera repair. Steve from CRIS called yesterday, and went over everything about the repair with me. He was very knowledgeable, and cordial. As it turns out it was not dust, and debris causing my issues. The 18-55mm lens would not focus to infinity, so it was adjusted, the 55-300mm did have a de-centering problem which they corrected by adjusting, and tightening the rear group of elements. they also cleaned a speck of dust off the focus screen, and adjust the camera's auto focus. A general check was performed. So, this thing should be good now. I think it will ship out today. I'll let you know how it turns out when I get it.

Yes, I feel much better today. Now I can't wait to get it in my hands. I'm really glad they didn't have to open up the body. They said they also calibrated each lens auto focus to my body. I should see a much improved system. We have to get together someday, and go shooting. I'm sorry I forgot your name. Let you know what happens in about a week.

Glad to hear it. Shouldn't be too long now, if the folks at CRIS are as prompt with yours as they were with mine.

The lenses were still covered under warranty for another 25 days. The body has the extended warranty, so I guess I have another 2 years on it. It's on the way back, and has a scheduled delivery date of 10-5. Can't wait. I sure hope it's all fixed.
