Default Morning Light

I love walking on the beach around dawn, the light can be lovely and it's not crowded. Very peaceful.

Looks almost like a lake.

It wasn't really that smooth:

The shadows make for added texture:

I wasn't the only one looking at the pebbles and shells that had washed up over night:

It's such a wonderful time to be out with a camera.

Very nice series. I really like the "rocks on the beach" close shot and the splashing water.

And I would think #1 would be a good entry - I really like that one.

This is the last day for the "reflections" contest on that "other site" - it would go well there, too.

I lurk more than anything over where you are referring to and have never entered any of their contests. I actually have better pictures for a reflection theme, just haven't posted them here yet (undecided about them).

I did change my entry for this month's challenge to one I took this weekend. I thought it was much cuter than any of these. There's another one I haven't posted yet that I think is a stronger statement picture, but while it's very yellow light, it's not what I think of when I think of the Golden Hour.

Thanks for bringing us to a fine bright morning at the beach! Great job (as always) capturing the mood of the moment, and great use of the low light. Love the spray & the pebbles!

# 1 is my favorite from this series. Beautiful scene well composed and the light is perfect!
