Default Everything going to seed...

Or at least it seems like it. This is the first time my wife and I had a chance to go to the preserve this time of year and its surprising how different it looks. And whatever wildlife that was there, was hiding pretty well in the the rich vegetation. So, I decided to shoot the vegetation...

Cattails going to seed...

Same shot up close

I'm not into plants that much so, I don't know the names of these

It was mid day and partly cloudy so there was lots of shade and it was pretty dark in some spots.

Can you spot the gator trying to hide?

More to come

When we were first coming into the preserve, we saw this hawk fly past and land in the trees so, I pulled over to see if I could get a shot. Couldn't get close enough and it was full shade but I liked the way it was framed so I thought I'd share it despite the poor IQ.

Then he flew to another tree, then he was gone.

Thank you, Ira. I appreciate the comment.

JP, No, its not you imagination, that's a gator but, I think he was just sleeping. He didn't move while I was watching.
Glad you guys enjoyed the pix.

Great shots GW!

Need to push the idea of going back to Florida for the holiday's next year (just mention Disney to my son and he will be sold) and meeting up with you for a walkabout.

Nice ones, GW. Well, except the snake shots. But, that's okay. I excuse you.

We went out yesterday and there was a lot of stuff gone to seed here, too. I couldn't see the alligator.
